Vulcain’s Cricket Nautical, a legendary diving instrument from over 60 years ago, is making a triumphant return. Back in 1961, Vulcain made waves as the sole watchmaker to offer a diver’s watch with an aquatic alarm that could be heard underwater. This innovative feature was made possible by the unique “triple case back.”
This iconic watch was the result of a collaboration between three experts and Vulcain, marking the birth of the world’s first diver’s watch with integrated dive time calculations and a genuine underwater alarm. One of the experts, Hannes Keller even set a deep-sea record in 1966, witnessed and validated by the legendary Jacques Cousteau.
For its 60th anniversary, a new version with a sapphire crystal is available in two distinct designs. The first features a black dial with faux-patina details and an emerald green minute track and the second a black dial with white Super-LumiNova® markers and hands, accompanied by a blue minute track. The Cricket Nautical has a 42mm diameter, ensuring ease of use and legibility underwater and a 300 meter water resistance.
Preserving its vintage charm, the Vulcain Cricket Manufacture V-10 caliber pays homage to the pioneering days of diving.
