Czapek & Cie has introduced three new gold executions to its Antarctique Mount Erebus line, each combining the brand’s sport-chic design with the natural drama of rare materials. Inspired by Mount Erebus, the Antarctic volcano known for emitting microscopic particles of gold, the collection explores the meeting point of geology and watchmaking, powered by Czapek’s in-house SXH5 automatic caliber.
The new models include the Mount Erebus Lapis Lazuli in rose gold, its dial cut from deep-blue stone flecked with golden pyrite, and the Mount Erebus Falcon Eye, also in rose gold, with a dial that shimmers in layered tones of anthracite, blue, and bronze. Both stones are notoriously difficult to master: lapis can fracture in cutting, while falcon eye yields very few flawless dials. The third, the Mount Erebus Green Meteor, brings back the steel meteorite edition of last year in a new yellow-gold case, its Gibeon meteorite dial acid-etched, lacquered in translucent green, and alive with crystalline Widmanstätten patterns.
Produced in collaboration with Gemmes-Tech, each dial is singular in character and texture. Annual production is capped at ten pieces for the lapis and falcon eye models, while the Green Meteor is limited to just eight. These are watches that carry both the rigor of fine watchmaking and the unpredictability of nature’s own artistry.
