Czapek & Cie kicks off its 10th anniversary year with the launch of the Antarctique Tourbillon, powered by the new in-house Calibre 9. This marks the brand’s first tourbillon in the Antarctique line—a bold move that blends classical watchmaking with contemporary design. The flying tourbillon, gear train, and barrel are all perfectly aligned on the dial side, creating a visually striking vertical layout. Slender bridges, hand-finishing, and a sense of airy lightness give the movement a floating, architectural feel.
At the center of the dial is a dramatic new guilloché pattern called Singularité, developed with Metalem. Inspired by astronomical singularities, this vortex-style motif adds depth and energy, challenging traditional guilloché techniques with its constantly shifting starting point. Hour markers are moved to the flange, letting the pattern and mechanics take center stage. The design is as much about visual impact as it is technical mastery.
The case has also been reworked, with raised sapphire crystals front and back to enhance transparency and light play. The gold winding rotor is convex and hand-engraved with a matching black-hole-inspired design. Even small details, like the mirrored caseback engravings, reinforce the theme of optical illusion and weightlessness.
