Introduced in March 2024, the Instrument de Vitesse is the latest masterpiece from Angelus’ La Fabrique collection, made to revive the thrill of vintage timed races. With its sleek design reminiscent of classic GT cars, this mono-pusher chronograph is timelessly elegant and precise. Available in two limited series of 25 timepieces each, the Instrument de Vitesse offers a choice between an ivory-white or ebony-black dial.
At first glance, you might mistake the Instrument de Vitesse for a simple three-hander, but a closer look reveals its true identity. The single pusher on the crown controls the central seconds hand, which starts its journey across the dial with a smooth sweep—a clear signal this is a chronograph made for timing short bursts of speed, precisely and elegantly.
Limited to just 25 pieces in each color, this watch is part of the La Fabrique family. The 39mm steel case is impressively thin at just 9.27mm, and it feels effortless on the wrist. The dial layout is smartly divided—on the outer ring, you have the tachymeter scale, calibrated from 60 to 500 km/h, and inside, the minutes circle keeps the time display easy to read.
Powering the Instrument de Vitesse is the manually-wound A5000 calibre, made by Angelus’ sister company, La Joux-Perret. It’s a column-wheel chronograph with a horizontal clutch—just like the classic chronographs of the 1950s.
