Jaeger-LeCoultre marks the 2026 Lunar New Year with the Reverso Tribute Enamel “Horse,” limited to just ten pieces and previewed at the Dream Shaper exhibition in Shanghai in September 2025. This creation continues the maison’s tradition of combining horology with cultural motifs. Born in 1931 as a watch for polo players, the Reverso has always carried equestrian associations, and the new edition follows earlier zodiac tributes to the Tiger, Dragon, and Snake. In Chinese culture, the horse represents strength, vitality, and perseverance, qualities now immortalized on the caseback of this celebrated design.
The reverse reveals a hand-engraved horse leaping from golden clouds, surrounded by deep black Grand Feu enamel. Rhodium detailing on the mane and hooves, together with sand-blasted textures, enhances lifelike movement and depth. Made with modeled engraving, the work demanded 80 hours of precision, executed directly on an enamel surface. The dial echoes the glossy enamel of the caseback, its minimal Reverso Tribute layout with faceted markers and Dauphine hands giving full emphasis to the luminous black background.
Inside, the Reverso Tribute Enamel “Horse” houses the manually wound Calibre 822, offering hours, minutes, and a 42-hour power reserve.
