The RIPPLES collection from SPEAKE MARIN, launched between March 2022 and 2023, features diverse and innovative designs. The journey began with the RIPPLES Black Original at Watches & Wonders 2022, marking the brand’s first steel watch with a steel bracelet.
The latest addition, the Ripples Metallic Green, features a metallic green dial inspired by London’s Sky Garden, offering a tranquil urban oasis feel. Its case, designed by Stéphane Lacroix, combines round and square shapes in polished and satin-brushed stainless steel, with an octagonal bezel. The transparent case back with anti-reflective sapphire crystal reveals the in-house movement.
The Ripples Metallic Green measures 40.30 mm in diameter and 9.20 mm in thickness, achieving a balance between presence and comfort. It’s water-resistant up to 50 meters and features a polished/satin-finished steel bracelet with a folding clasp.
The metallic green dial, a result of complex craftsmanship, is made from rhodium-plated brass with hand satin-finish waves and a metallic green PVD coating. The heart-shaped central hour and minute hands, reminiscent of Big Ben, add a touch of British elegance.
A unique feature is the small seconds placed at 1:30, a testament to the Speake Marin’s ingenuity and the calibre’s mechanical complexity. The watch is powered by the in-house self-winding SMA03-T calibre with a tungsten micro-rotor. This movement, comprising 144 components and 31 jewels, ensures optimal performance and a 52-hour power reserve.
