Perrelet’s latest Turbine limited edition, created with Emirati artist Diaa Allam for Dubai Watch Week, feels refreshingly human . A watch shaped as much by hand and heritage as by mechanics. Allam’s artwork sits beneath the turbine, a tangle of bright, woven lines inspired by traditional palm-leaf wickerwork, threaded with soft Arabic calligraphy. As the turbine spins, the colours flicker and the letters come alive, giving the dial a sense of motion that feels almost organic.
The watch itself keeps everything around that artwork intentionally restrained. The black DLC-coated titanium case is light and clean, with Arabic numerals, white markers and a single red seconds hand framing the display. Perrelet’s 12-blade turbine, weighted with tungsten, spins freely with every wrist movement and snaps back into place with the kind of balance only long experience can achieve. Flip the watch over and the sapphire case back reveals an inscription in Arabic about the fleeting nature of time, along with the limited-edition number.
