Hamilton has partnered with Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures to create a unique “Desert Watch” for Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Two.” This collaboration marks a departure from Hamilton’s traditional process as they worked directly with the film’s prop master, Doug Harlocker, to design a watch that aligns with the otherworldly aesthetic of “Dune.” The design process was influenced by the lore of the Dune universe and Villeneuve’s specific vision, resulting in a Fremen-inspired watch that Villeneuve approved.
In addition to the custom watch for the film, Hamilton is released two limited-edition Ventura watches in February 2024 to coincide with the film’s release. These watches, influenced by the “Desert Watch,” feature a black dial that lights up in blue when activated, echoing the blue eyes of the Fremen. The Ventura XXL Bright Dune, limited to 3’000 pieces, mimics the “Desert Watch’s” glowing blue lines, and the Ventura Edge Dune, limited to 2’000 pieces, features a matte black PVD-coated case with a blue digital display.
